James Madison provided the framework to fix the financing of campaigns over 250 years ago. In his famed Federalist 51 essay, Madison wrote, "ambition must be made to counteract ambition." To blunt the untoward influence of Super PACs, we must harness the ambition of investors looking to fix democracy and make a profit in order to counter the ambition of Super PAC donors attempting to influence the political system.
