High Court Slaps Down Circuit Habeas Call

The U.S. Supreme Court reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday for the ninth time in 11 cases after it found an inmate in a California prison does not deserve habeas relief.

WASHINGTON - In a stinging, unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling Monday that had granted a California inmate habeas relief.


The court did not need an oral argument before summarily reversing the circuit's decision, calling it "as inexplicable as it is unexplained."
