Judge's Tattoo Removal Program Feted

Over the last two and a half years or so, some 30 ex-prisoners have had or are having tattoos removed, thanks to a UC Irvine program.

SANTA ANA - Nathan Gloyd spent three years in federal prison on marijuana charges, during which time he covered his neck, hands and arms with tattoos. Out of prison for a year, the 24-year-old now has a job with a home-security company, thanks in part to a unique tattoo-removal program spearheaded by a federal judge and top laser scientists at UC Irvine.
