Cooley Promotes DA Hopeful Lacey

LA District Attorney Steve Cooley appointed Jacquelyn Lacey as his new chief deputy, giving her campaign to succeed Cooley a boost.

Jacquelyn Lacey, rumored to be Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley's choice to replace him, will become Cooley's chief deputy next month.


Cooley announced the promotion, effective April 4, in a press release Wednesday. Lacey has established an exploratory committee to run for district attorney in 2012, when Cooley's term expires.
