Latham Advised on Plexxikon Sale

Berkeley drugmaker Plexxikon Inc. agreed to be acquired by Tokyo's Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd. for $805 million up front and $130 million in near-term milestones. A 17-attorney team from Latham & Watkins LLP advised Plexxikon.

Tokyo-based drugmaker Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd will pay $805 million up front, and possibly more later, to acquire Plexxikon Inc., a privately owned pharmaceutical developer in Berkeley.


Latham & Watkins LLP represents Plexxikon in the deal. Silicon Valley partners Alan C. Mendelson, Peter F. Kerman, Joshua Dubofsky and Greg Chin led the team, which also included six other partners and six associates. ...
