Stanford Law gets federal grant for legal education in Afghanistan

Stanford Law School won a five-year, $7.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of State to continue developing the next generation of lawyers and legal professionals in Afghanistan.

Stanford Law School announced Monday that its legal education project in Afghanistan has won the school's largest-ever federal grant.


The U.S. Department of State will contribute $7.2 million over the next five years to the project, a student-driven initiative launched in 2007 to provide legal education resources for students at the American University of Afghanistan.
