Sued by US consumer agency, LA lawyer faces disbarment

A mortgage-modification lawyer in Los Angeles sued by the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau could be disbarred under new State Bar charges against him.

The mortgage-modification lawyer targeted by the new federal Consumer Finance Protection Bureau in its first enforcement lawsuit now faces a State Bar discipline complaint accusing him of 30 violations involving 13 clients.
