Irell helps TiVo collect more in patent settlements

Verizon Communications Inc. will pay more than $250 million to settle a patent lawsuit with TiVo Inc., which accused Verizon of infringing its digital recording technology.

Verizon Communications Inc. will pay more than $250 million to settle a patent lawsuit with TiVo Inc., which accused Verizon of infringing its digital recording technology.

Verizon will pay $100 million in cash up front and another $150 million in payments until 2018, according to Los Angeles-based Irell $ Manella LLP, which represents TiVo.
