Lawmakers directed bar to undo building loans

Chairs of the Legislature's Judiciary Committees were concerned about the bar pledging dues revenue as collateral.

Two powerful state lawmakers have urged the State Bar to quickly undo a loan arrangement in which it pledged future lawyers' dues as collateral and raised the potential for the agency to face litigation if it did not.
