On April 12, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed what has been dubbed the Paid Parental Leave (PPL) ordinance. Under the ordinance, San Francisco employees using California's paid family leave (PFL) benefits when bonding with a minor child in the first year after birth or foster care or adoption placement may also be eligible to receive "supplemental compensation" from their employers.
