SEC sues litigation marketing company

An SEC complaint accuses a Los Angeles-based litigation marketing company of deceiving retirees and investors about putting nearly $12 million of their money toward class actions aimed at nabbing hefty settlements.

A complaint by the Securities and Exchange Commission accuses a Los Angeles-based litigation marketing company of deceiving retirees and investors about putting nearly $12 million of their money toward class actions aimed at nabbing hefty settlements.

But instead of doing that, Prometheus Law executives James Catipay and David Aldrich took more than $5 million of the money for "personal use," according to the SEC.
