Perkins Coie, Others Find Dot-Com Can Mean Dot-Gone

SEATTLE - It's becoming a habit with high-tech lawyers: Lend a client an ear today - lead the company tomorrow. At Seattle's largest law firm, Perkins Coie, at least 12 attorneys have departed in the past three years for top positions at companies such as Amazon.com and Drugstore.com. In June, four more lawyers jumped ship, one to head up an Internet bank and three others to start a Web site called UrbanEarth.com.
