Saving Misbehaving LAPD

Once again, the Los Angeles Police Department, with a little help from Mayor Richard J. Riordan, is making sure to talk only to itself. With the sudden ouster of Board of Police Commissioners President Gerald Chaleff, there will be even fewer voices in the LAPD's long-running, internal soliloquy. Ironically, Chaleff was no liberal reformer, and he strayed very slightly, if at all, from the Riordan-Parks-LAPD party line.
