Court May Sanction Lawyers for 'Reckless' Mischaracterization

LOS ANGELES - A judge may sanction a lawyer for making "reckless" statements if the judge finds that the statements are frivolous or have an improper purpose, such as harassment, a U.S. appeals court panel ruled Thursday.
