Court Scolds Lawyers for Slow Death Row Appeals

SACRAMENTO - The state Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed a San Francisco lawyer to withdraw from a death penalty case after she told the justices she was "paralyzed" by the anxiety of being the sole lawyer working on the appeal and was unable to continue.
