Berman Seeks Protective Status for Salvadorans

LOS ANGELES - Calling it the only humane and economically sensible thing to do, Rep. Howard Berman, D-Mission Hills, said Monday he will introduce legislation this week seeking temporary protective status for Salvadorans in the United States in response to the devastating earthquake that struck the Central American country last month.
