Lawyers Slam Broad Searches In Probe of South Gate Scandal

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles County district attorney went too far in a sweeping search of law firms and other organizations Thursday, going so far as to close down one law firm, confine employees for several hours, and confiscate numerous computers and other documents, lawyers for some of the targeted organizations said Friday as they appeared in court to seek return of their documents.
