New Laws Expand Cesar Chavez Day, Domestic Partners' Rights

SACRAMENTO - Gov. Gray Davis signed nearly 1,000 bills in 2001. On the civil side, Davis signed laws that revamp a process for mediating construction defect disputes, ask the state to develop standards for unhealthy levels of mold and provide incentives for law firms to increase pro bono work.
