SUNNYVALE'S 3DLABS GIVES THE GREENLIGHT TO MERGER

Creative Technology Ltd. has agreed to acquire 3Dlabs Inc. The $103 million deal was announced March 11. Singapore's Creative Technology produces and sells digital entertainment products, such as sound cards, graphics cards, DVD drives and MP3 players, which allows users to download and play music. Its customers include Dell Computer Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Intel Corp.
