CADENCE ANNOUNCES IT WILL TAKE PLATO DESIGN
Cadence Design Systems Inc. has agreed to acquire Plato Design Systems Inc. in a deal worth $57 million. The deal was announced March 13. San Jose's Cadence Design produces and sells electronic design automation software, which is used to design semiconductors and electronic systems in wireless systems, networks and computer systems. Its customers include Motorola Inc., Fujitsu Limited and Lucent Technologies Inc.
