Court Voids Securities Company's Arbitration Contract

Focus Column - By Michelle A. Reinglass - Several employees of Countrywide Securities Corp. have challenged their employer's enforcement of an arbitration agreement. In a much-awaited decision, on Feb. 13, the 4th District Court of Appeal weighed in by granting a writ of mandamus to reverse the trial court's order compelling Fred and Melissa Mercuro to arbitrate their tort claims against Countrywide.
