Thousand Oaks' WellPoint Health Networks Inc. has agreed to purchase St. Louis-based RightCHOICE Managed Care Inc. in a stock-and-cash transaction valued at $1.3 billion.
WellPoint, parent of Blue Cross of California, is a health care provider that serves 10 million customers across the country.
