Davis Polk: Sunnyvale's Mercury Dives Into New Freshwater Deal

Software-testing developer Mercury Interactive Corp. will buy Freshwater Software for $147 million in cash. Sunnyvale's Mercury Interactive makes testing software for e-business applications, enterprise resource planning applications and client-server software. Half of the company's sales is through resellers and consultants such as Accenture Ltd. and International Business Machines Corp. The other half comes directly from customers such as AOL Time Warner Inc. and Ford Motor Co.
