Rampart Officers Maintain United Front at Trial
Lawyers for four Los Angeles Police Department officers on trial in the Rampart scandal probably will rest their case today. On Friday, two of the officers continued a unified front as they took the witness stand and strongly denied that a gun was planted on a suspect during an April 1996 gang raid or that they lied about being hit by a truck carrying two other suspects after a similar raid three months later.
