State Bar panel pushes ahead with evidence rules for prosecutors

A State Bar panel voted on Friday to pursue a requirement that prosecutors turn over exculpatory evidence to defense lawyers.

SAN FRANCISCO - A State Bar panel voted on Friday to pursue a requirement that prosecutors turn over exculpatory evidence to defense lawyers.

The 10-2 vote was a setback for some district attorneys, who encouraged the rule at Friday's public meeting but preferred the State Bar push forward with a different version of it.
