Small law firms are driving an uptick in legal industry mergers, as they actively seek to consolidate their regional power or join a national firm, according to consulting firm Altman Weil Inc.
There were 39 law firm mergers in the first half of the year, matching last year's record-breaking pace, according to an Altman Weil quarterly report Wednesday.
