Orrick CEO and chairman considers run for office

Longtime Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP Chairman and CEO Ralph H. Baxter Jr. told the partners of his firm Friday he is actively considering plans to run for a West Virginia U.S. Senate seat in 2014.

SAN FRANCISCO - Longtime Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP Chairman and CEO Ralph H. Baxter Jr. told the partners of his firm Friday he is actively considering plans to run for a West Virginia U.S. Senate seat in 2014.


As a result, he will pass off the reins of the firm to Menlo Park-based partner Mitch Zuklie on March 31 instead of in early 2014, as previously planned.
