Taking many by surprise, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals late Friday afternoon abruptly gave the go-ahead for same-sex marriages.
The circuit panel in charge of Proposition 8 dissolved "effective immediately" the stay of former Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker's 2010 ruling that Prop. 8 is unconstitutional.
