It's safe to say that MGM had a successful holiday season last year. The 23rd James Bond film, "Skyfall," which was released in the U.S. on Nov. 9, and The Lord of the Rings prequel, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," released in the U.S. on Dec. 14, have each gone on to gross more than $1 billion.
