Hewlett-Packard Co. has agreed to settle a class action alleging that the Palo Alto company's printers contained mechanisms that wrongly showed that ink cartridges were empty, prompting customers to buy more before needed.
The plaintiffs and Hewlett-Packard's lawyers are to file a joint stipulation outlining the terms of the settlement by July 9, according to an order signed...
