Legislature Passes Bill Letting Judges Receive Extra County Perks

Even as state lawmakers' epic stalemate over the budget continued, they were able to resolve at least one legal issue this weekend. Both houses of the Legislature approved a bill allowing counties, including Los Angeles, to continue paying supplemental benefits to trial court judges.

SAN FRANCISCO - Even as state lawmakers' epic stalemate over the budget continued, they were able to resolve at least one legal issue this weekend.

Both houses of the Legislature voted to approve SBX2 11, a bill allowing counties, including Los Angeles, to continue paying supplemental benefits to trial court judges.
