Blue Cross to Pay $15 Million Over Rescission

Anthem Blue Cross has reached a new $15 million settlement with the state over the company's controversial use of rescission to sack sick policyholders sources said Tuesday. Under the deal, Anthem will offer new policies to 2,300 rescinded policyholders, and reimburse those patients' out-of-pocket medical expenses that regulators valued at $14 million.
