Merger a 'Home Run' for K&L Gates

The partnerships of K&L Gates and Chicago-based Bell, Boyd & Lloyd have approved a merger that will give K&L Gates a foothold in the San Diego life sciences market.

SAN DIEGO - The partnerships of K&L Gates and Chicago-based Bell, Boyd & Lloyd have approved a merger that will give K&L Gates a foothold in the San Diego life sciences market.

The Seattle-based K&L Gates also will get a Chicago office in the marriage.

"It's a home run for both firms," Bell Boyd chairman John T. McCarthy said following Friday's vote.
