State Bar Will Not Boycott S.D. Hotel

The State Bar will hold its annual meeting at the Manchester Grand Hyatt as planned, despite pressures to honor a boycott spurred by the hotel owner's financial donations to the ballot campaign to ban same-sex marriage.

SAN DIEGO - The State Bar will hold its annual meeting at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, as planned, despite pressures to honor a boycott spurred by the hotel owner's support of the same-sex marriage ban.

The board decided in a special teleconference Friday to honor the contract it has had with the Hyatt since 2004, rather than risk a $500,000 cancellation fee.
