Adding another black mark to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, a prosecutor has been punished for withholding evidence about the sanity of a defendant in a murder trial. Deputy District Attorney Peter S. Waite reached an agreement last week with the State Bar under which he received a public reproval for his misconduct.
