High Court Will Decide Whether Sex-Abuse Case Can Proceed

David M. Ring represents three former Explorer Scouts who say they were sexually molested by David J. Kalish, once the highest-ranking openly gay officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. The scouts, now in their 40s, are asking the California Supreme Court to allow them to sue the LAPD.

      When they signed up for the Los Angeles Police Department's Explorer Scout program back in the 1970s, the teenage boys just wanted to learn what it was like to work in law enforcement.
