Court Sets Hearing For Rampart Officer

A preliminary hearing for Los Angeles Police Officer Nino Floyd Durden, who is accused of framing and trying to murder an unarmed gang member, has been scheduled for Oct. 18.

        Durden, a one-time member of the police department's gang suppression unit, Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums, is being held in lieu of $680,000. He has been relieved of duty.
