State Bar approves 13 percent spending boost for 2017

The agency's $19 million increase to its budget is a result of planned staffing additions in the bar's Office of the Chief Trial Counsel, pay raises for employees and implementation of a new case management system, among other items.

In the midst of seemingly tough fiscal times for the State Bar, the agency's executive committee unanimously approved a 2017 budget that boosts spending by 13 percent compared to a year ago.
