Recently, there has been a lot of commentary in the press regarding reported statistics showing an 84 cent wage gap in California between men and women, despite existing laws that prohibited wage discrimination. Reportedly, the statistics show an even wider pay disparity for women of color, with African-American women making 63 cents, and Hispanic women earning less than 43 cents for every dollar made by Caucasian males.
