Riverside Doctor Loses Verdict

A jury slapped a neurosurgeon with a $16.5 million in damages, finding that he was negligent in making a patient wait two days for spinal surgery.

A Riverside jury found local doctor Christopher Pham negligent for making an injured patient wait 2 days for spinal surgery, and slapped the neurosurgeon with $16.5 million in damages late last week.

Trent and Lisa Hughes, who settled the allegations with Desert Regional Medical Center, sued Pham for failing to provide timely care. Hughes is paralyzed from the waist down.
