Manatt Phelps Merges With 45-Lawyer Firm

In the latest move to expand its presence in the Bay Area, Los Angeles-based Manatt, Phelps & Phillips will acquire Steefel, Levitt & Weiss, it was announced Friday. The firms said they expect to complete the transaction by Feb. 1 and will operate under the Manatt name.
