China's new counter-terrorism law will affect US businesses
Chinese lawmakers recently enacted the Counter-Terrorism Law of the People's Republic of China, which took effect Jan. 1.

On Dec. 27, 2015, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress enacted the Counter-Terrorism Law of the People's Republic of China, which took effect Jan. 1. The purpose of the law is to "strengthen counter-terrorism efforts and to safeguard the security of the state, the public, and the lives and properties of the people."
