The strong performance of initial public offerings in 2009 is expected to encourage more private companies to take the plunge early this year, corporate lawyers said Thursday.
An index of U.S. companies that have recently gone public rose nearly 55 percent over the course of last year, according to Greenwich, Ct.-based Renaissance Capital LLC, which released the data this week.
