Fallen Comrades

This holiday season, we have devoted the final five editions of the Daily Journal to stories about veterans. There are articles about lawyers who are providing their services and other stories about veterans in desperate need of legal help.

There are more than 23 million veterans living in the United States. In 2009, 169,000 young recruits signed up to serve our country. Most will be sent to fight in one or both of two wars, and some of them will pay the ultimate price. More than 5,000 men and women have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
