SAN DIEGO - Federal prosecutor Laura Duffy is rumored to be the front runner for U.S. attorney for the Southern District.
A San Diego attorney, speaking off the record, confirmed that he, and at least one other lawyer, had been contacted last week by the FBI doing a background check on her - considered to be among the last steps in the selection process.
