State Assembly easily passes State Bar dues bill

Lawmakers said they wanted stronger bill, but hope Senate will compromise by Wednesday deadline.

An amended State Bar dues bill passed the state Assembly Monday without opposition.

Though several lawmakers voiced disappointment the measure did not include stronger reforms of the embattled agency, when the roll-call vote on SB 846 closed, the tally in favor was 70-0.
