Complex civil department opens Sept. 6 in San Bernardino

The new department is expected to handle a lot of construction defect and employment cases.

A stand-alone, complex civil litigation department will open Sept. 6 in San Bernardino County Superior Court, taking advantage of increased funding approved by the Judicial Council.

All new complex filings will be directed to the new department, headed by Judge David Cohn, instead of being shuffled among the 11 unlimited civil departments.
