Easing what was once one of the toughest standards in the nation for proving innocence, the state Legislature Thursday passed a bill that would align California law more closely with other states.
At present, a finding of innocence requires a finding that "points unerringly to innocence with evidence no reasonable jury could reject," according to the text of the bill....
