Stewart chosen as San Francisco's next assistant presiding judge

San Francisco County Superior Court Judge John K. Stewart has been selected as the next assistant presiding judge of the court in a contested election.

San Francisco County Superior Court Judge John K. Stewart has been selected as the next assistant presiding judge of the court. He beat out Marla J. Miller for the position in a contested election that ran from Sept. 18 through Tuesday. Starting in January, Stewart will replace current Assistant Presiding Judge Cynthia Ming-mei Lee, who won the court's presiding judge spot in a contested race against Judge Harold E. Kahn in June.
