Witness Backs Ex-Gangster's Story

A young woman testifying Friday in the trial of four Los Angeles police officers charged in the first corruption prosecution to emerge from the Rampart police misconduct scandal appeared to corroborate a former gang member's claim he did not try to run down a police officer during a July 1996 sweep of a gang gathering.
